OUR PASTOR

Danny Tice is the Lead Pastor of Bay Shore Community Church. From a young age, God gave Danny a vision of church that was not content to settle into half-hearted, lukewarm, cultural Christianity. After graduating from Liberty Bible College in 1981, Danny attended the University of Delaware to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies, Salisbury University to get his Master’s Degree in Ancient History and eventually Liberty University to receive his Masters in Divinity Degree. In 1981 Danny and Karen moved to Millsboro Delaware to start Gumboro Fellowship with a group of families committed to doing church in a unique way. Since then, Danny and Karen have welcomed two sons, Tim and Joel. Bay Shore Community church has grown into a thriving, multigenerational church impacting students and families in Sussex County and around the world.  Danny’s greatest passion is seeing people treasure Jesus Christ above every other option for their lives.

Recently, Pastor Danny wrote a book called “Having Hope In A World Without Hope” in a time when we as Church need hope the most. Grab your copy at the link below:

WHAT TO EXPECT

HOW LONG IS A BAY SHORE SERVICE?

In total, a Bay Shore service is about 60 minutes in length. Services begin with the Bay Shore band leading the church in music - song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, one of our pastors will come out to share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus.

WHAT'S THE CULTURE LIKE AT BAY SHORE?

Sunday's at Bay Shore are exciting, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at Bay Shore, we make this a priority. Every weekend, all children (babies through 8th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative, engaging, and relevant way. We believe church should be fun, God loves to hear kids laugh, and that active faith begins with children.

The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our Bay Shore Kids program the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get signed in for the Bay Shore Kids service.

WHO WE ARE

Bay Shore is a community of faith born out of the heart of Delaware. Founded by pastor and father Danny Tice, Bay Shore strives to present our community with the hope of Jesus Christ.

We have created a culture in where anyone can belong before they believe, and desire to create a home of faith for anyone who does not have one.

Bay Shore is a multi-campus non-denominational church located in Millsboro Delaware with campuses located in Rehoboth Beach and Fenwick Island.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the church exists to declare the name of Jesus and to build a place called home for the many who do not have one.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to be a church that connects to God, connects to people, and serves our community.

OUR CORE VALUES

1. Jesus is why the church exists.

2. Excellence honors God.

3. Community is necessary.

OUR BELIEFS

THE GOSPEL SAVES

Therefore, Bay Shore will preach the Gospel to unbelievers.

God created humanity to worship and be in fellowship with him. Yet, humanity decided to worship self instead of God which resulted in sin and idolatry. The fall undermined man’s fellowship with God, left all of creation broken, and resulted in both physical and spiritual death (Rom. 8:20-21; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3; Ps. 51:5). The good news of the Gospel is that in spite of all of creation being fallen, and man being dead in sin, God intervened based on his love and mercy. He did so by sending his son Jesus Christ to reconcile all things by taking on human flesh so that he could live for, die for, and be resurrected for those who are separated from God (Col. 1:20; Rom. 5:19; Rom. 6:1-10). Salvation is a free gift of God that is received through faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8). This is the Gospel that Bay Shore Community Church will unashamedly live and preach to the people in our community.

THE GOSPEL GROWS

Therefore, Bay Shore will preach the Gospel to believers.

The gospel is for both non-Christians and Christians alike. In salvation the gospel gives us a right standing before God, and in daily Christian living creates in us a desire to love God and be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). The gospel is the primary fuel for living the Christian life. We will only be motivated to love God and love our neighbors as we daily reflect on God’s love for us experienced in the gospel (Matt. 22:37-39). We are committed to continually preaching the gospel to our church in the hope that the love we experience through it will enable Bay Shore to live for God and bring him glory.

THE GOSPEL GATHERS

Therefore, Bay Shore will gather together as the body of Christ.

The fall distorted our relationship with God and one another. Yet, through being restored to a right relationship with God through the gospel, we can have true authentic community with one another. As a local expression of the body of Christ in our communities, we are dedicated to covenanting together and committing our lives to one another. We will strive to be a diverse covenant community welcoming all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. We will seek to love one another which will act as an apologetic to those who do not know God (John 17:23). Lastly, we will gather together for weekly corporate worship as a visible picture of the body of Christ and the power of the Gospel.

THE GOSPEL SENDS

Therefore, Bay Shore will take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

When the Gospel saves us the gospel sends us. Jesus told his disciples, “As the father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). We believe God is sending Bay Shore Community Church. Therefore, we will strive to be a sent community living as fishers of men (Luke 5:10-11) by taking the Gospel to our workplace, to our neighborhoods, and to the whole city. We believe that the church is God’s plan A to bring salvation to the ends of the earth and to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). As a result Bay Shore will support missions, send missionaries, and plant churches for the glory of God.
