Go Above Ground

In 2010, Bay Shore Rehoboth opened our doors and became the first satellite campus of Bay Shore Community Church. The truth is, we didn’t know what to expect (there’s no playbook for starting churches in basements). But what we did know was, God had big dreams for us. We started small. A few people showed up at first. So, we prayed for 100 people to show up for church… and they did. Next, we prayed for more people to show up… and they did.

Then we had a problem… we ran out of seats.

So we added another service. Then, we really got to it and started helping local kids by giving them school supplies. We partnered with homeless shelters to help those around town in a tough spot. We got involved with after school programs in West Rehoboth. Then, we built a home in the Dominican Republic for a homeless family. Then we built another home there. We made shoes for kids in Africa.

The basement came alive.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve seen so many people become Jesus followers here (over 450… but who’s counting). We’ve seen over 100 people go public for Jesus by being baptized. We threw baptism parties. People stood in line to be baptized and we cheered like we were watching life change right in front of us… because we were. God kept doing big things in our small basement. Then, on Christmas 2019, 400 people showed up to church. We were excited, but we didn’t know where to put everyone! That same night, we received a $100k donation to go towards the future of our campus.

That night, God gave us a new dream… it was time to take our basement church, ABOVE GROUND!

Go Above Ground is a capital campaign to raise $1.5 million dollars so we can have a larger facility, reach more people, and make an even greater impact to serve our community. Really, we want to see more than the basement come alive… we want to see Rehoboth Beach come alive.
